Autism Navigator LLC, (Autism Navigator®) is committed to protecting the privacy of our visitors. We maintain safeguards to store and secure the information we collect. The safeguards may be physical, electronic or procedural. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use that information.

Glossary of Terms

Information We Collect

Autism Navigator® collects personally identifiable information from our users at several different points on our website.   While Autism Navigator® is the sole owner of the information collected on autismnavigator.learnercommunity.com, some of this information may be shared with research partners (see Information Sharing) in a de-identified form; meaning it cannot be traced back to you.

Registration – Information on this website (autismnavigator.learnercommunity.com) is only available with registration/membership. During registration you will be required to provide certain information, including personal information. Our use of that information is subject to this Privacy Policy.

Surveys – In order to use the provided course material we require participation in a survey that pertains to your background, service and experience. The requested information typically includes information about your field of training, certifications, job experience, prior training, and generic information about children you may have worked with.  This information is collected and stored by Autism Navigator®. A de-identified version of this information will be used in conjunction with other data for research and reporting purposes.  If your access to Autism Navigator® was provided by a State or Provincial government, your information will be available to that State/Provence.

Learner Assessments – Coursework will be evaluated through the use of learner assessments.  Answers to a learner assessment will be stored and associated to the individual taking the assessment.  General analytics (pass/fail rates, etc.) may be gathered from this data.  If your access to Autism Navigator® was provided by a State or Provincial government, your information will be available to that State/Provence.

Continuing Education Credits – Any continuing education credits earned will be stored and associated with the individual.  If your access to Autism Navigator® was provided by a State or Provincial government, your information will be available to that State/Provence.

Uses of Information

Any personally identifiable information you send us will only be used for the purpose indicated. Requests for information will be directed to the appropriate staff to respond to the request and may be recorded to help us update our website to better respond to similar requests. We will not sell, exchange or otherwise distribute your personally identifiable information without your consent, unless required by law.

Communications from Us

Customer Service – When you register with Autism Navigator® we will send you a welcoming email to verify your email address. We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your account.

Promotional Notifications – From time to time you may be presented with the opportunity to receive additional communication from us promoting course material or other services that may interest you.  These promotional communications are entirely optional and you may opt in or out at any time.

Information Sharing

We DO NOT Share Personally Identifiable Information with Third Parties Without Your Consent.

Service Providers – We use other third parties to provide web programming on our site. The programming service provider may use data on our website to fix or test the data storage mechanisms of this website. These third parties are prohibited from using your personally identifiable information for any other purpose.

Florida State University Autism Institute – Autism Navigator® will share de-identified data as part of ongoing research studies with the Florida State University Autism Institute and its research collaborators.

State or Provencial Governments – If your access to Autism Navigator® was provided by a State or Provincial government or your employer, your information will be available to that State/Provence or employer.

Legal Disclaimer – We will disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our website.

Log Files

As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.

We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, and to track users’ movements around the site. We do not link this automatically collected data to personally identifiable information.

We use cookies on this site. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our site.

We use session ID cookies. We use session cookies to make it easier for you to navigate our site and to establish your access privileges to various protected content on the site.

We set a persistent cookie to store the fact that you are logged into the system so you don't have to login more than once. We do not store the username or password in the cookie - only the fact that you are authenticated.

User Account Profiles

When creating or modifying your account you may chose to share your website, location, gender, and micro biography.  Any of this optional information you submit can be read, collected, or used by other users of this website.  We are not responsible for the optional personally identifiable information you choose to submit as part of your public account profile.

Access to Personally Identifiable Information

If your personally identifiable information changes you may correct or update it by selecting My Account, and making the change on your Profile page.  If you no longer desire our service and want to delete your account, please contact us at support@autismnavigator.com.

Security

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
